ECUADOR and the GALAPAGOS ISLANDS We will fly into Quito set amid snow-topped Andean peaks and spend some time touring the town plus a day's outing to Atavalo north of the city which has an interesting market, indigenous women weaving, and much more. Then we fly directly to the Galapagos Islands for seeing nature at its best; the blue footed boobies (birds), sea lions, and many other animal life. This is a nature tour. Our in-house expert traveling with us, Donald Duszynski, Ph.D. has done extensive scientific research on many of these islands. Optional extension: Amazon Rain Forest and the Avenue of the Volcanoes. |

Madrid, Seville & Granada, SPAIN Half day city tour of Madrid. The Prado, the world's greatest assembly of Spanish masterpieces especially Velasquez and Goya. The Plaza Mayor awaits with its allegorical paintings. This famous space was used for bullfights, trials, executions in Spain's long history. The Palacio Real is not where the King and Queen live, but is used for special state ocassions. Sevilla is a charming town with a huge Gothic cathedral and an old town spiraling around it. We will take a day trip to Granada to see the moorish architecture of the Alhambra, the magical gardens. The flamenco is the soul of Andalusia and is unique to the area. |

MOROCCO We will visit markets / souks, examine textiles, be in contact with young designers, and explore historic costume. We make a circle of Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Erfoud, Fez, Casablanca. Imperial cities, royal palaces, craft guilds, sand dunes, camel trains and UNESCO World Heritage sites, the High Atlas Mountains, and more! |
